City Walk – Tuesday 24 November – Temple Station to Somerset House
Temple Station was our starting point and we quickly made our way to Somerset House and the Skate ice rink stopping en-route to take shots of St. Mary Le Grand in the Strand.
Security prevented the group using tripods and at one end of the ice rink another security man objected to professional looking cameras photographing skaters. However, there were plenty of rails and ledges for us to use as makeshift tripods and a decent level of light gave us many opportunities to compose our shots.
At around eight we made our way back along The Strand to Essex Street for a drink at the Temple Brew House to my mind one of the best pubs we have visited.
I have very much enjoyed organising these walks and would like to take this opportunity to thanks all those who have participated throughout the summer and autumn. I am seeking support for a Saturday morning stroll in the New Year from say 9.30 or 10.00 until midday in areas like; Barbican, Kings Cross, Queen Elizabeth (Olympic) Park and the South Bank.
