Autumn Colours at Kew Gardens and Waterlow Park, Highgate

Autumn; the veil that tries to protect us from winter.

Both of these walks were led by the inestimable Robert Canis, the first on behalf of Kew Gardens and the second for London branch of The Royal Photographic Society Breathing London programme.  Rob introduced many of the group to the techniques of intended camera movement and multiple exposure; an experience enjoyed by all.

City Photo Walk Chinatown to Piccadilly

The evening promised opportunities for night photography, long exposures and a drink at the end; we were not disappointed.  We met outside Fiori Restaurant in Cranbourne Street beside Leicester Square tube station and made our way to the entrance of Chinatown at Gerrard Street.  From here we crossed into Brewer Street and Soho before finding our way into Golden Square and Piccadilly.  The evening was rounded off at The Red Lion near Jermyn Street.

Hidden London – Euston Tunnels

When the Victoria line was built in the 60s a number of surplus pedestrian tunnels were taken out of service as the whole of Euston Station was rebuilt.  They are still used for storage and more recently have been opened for Hidden London Tours.  They lack the history of Down Street Station but provide a visual history of underground advertising in the 60s.
