Cologne, Germany

Our trip to Germany last summer started at St. Pancras in London on Eurostar to Brussels where we had an eight minute dash over platforms to board the DB rail to Cologne for our first nights stay.

The purpose for our trip was to visit our daughter-in-law’s parents in Kiel and watch the start of the Kiel Week festival. We could have flown but travelled by train to see more of Germany, a country we hardly knew.

En-route to Cologne we passed through the impressive station at Liege.  In Cologne we visited the Cathedral and walked across the famous bridge as well as enjoying the local Cologne beer.
